Certified Master Building Professional (CMBP) Exam
The Certified Master Building Professional (CMBP) credential recognizes experienced industry professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and a commitment to the highest standards of residential construction. This product provides registration for the CMBP (CMRP) proctored exam, the first step in the credentialing process.

Exam Details:
- Format: 100 multiple-choice questions.
- Time Limit: 3 hours.
- Delivery Options: You may choose to test from home using live remote proctoring or visit one of the thousands of approved Meazure Learning testing centers nationwide.
- Scheduling: Upon successful registration and payment, you will receive instructions to schedule your testing session. Appointments are available for any time after April 1, 2026.
Retake Fee (if needed): $99.
The Application Process:
Achieving a passing score on the exam is the prerequisite for the formal credential application.
Note: The application must be purchased separately.
Application fees:
- NAHB Member: $199
- NAHB non-member: $299
One-Year Completion Window:
- You have one (1) year from the date of your passing score to complete the online application process.
Submission Requirements:
The application is completed via the NAHB credentialing portal and requires documentation for the following:
- Professional Experience: Minimum of five years in a leadership role at a residential building or remodeling firm.
- Professional Development: Documentation of 50 hours of broad-based qualifying education completed within the past five years.
- Business Verification: Proof of insurance and active business or contractor licensing.
- Referrals: Three client or industry referrals.
